What qualities do you think are needed to be successful in today’s workplace?
The most important thing you can do to help your career is learn to market yourself as your own unique personal brand. How do you want people to perceive you?
Whether you are an executive, an actor, a doctor, a sales professional, an attorney or any other profession, it is important to differentiate yourself from others. You need to spend time thinking about what makes you unique. And then you need to communicate who you are, what you love to do and why you will provide value to an organization, their employees and their customers.
Here are a few tips to get you started with your personal brand:
- Promote the professional “you” on all social media platforms.
- Be conscious of your image in your community.
- Practice etiquette. Don’t burn bridges – it’s a small world.
- Be visible in the circles that motivate you to succeed.
- Be good at what you do and embrace self-development.
- Network with value for both parties. Build strong relationships.
- Educate and provide valuable information.
- Give back – volunteer, donate and help others.
