Hey everyone - Lauren Valentine from Alaant! Last week, in our “Question of the Week” we surveyed all of you, wondering “Is the promise of a year-end bonus keeping you from making a career move?” And the results were eye-opening.
Let’s take a look: 41% of you said you're planning to stay. Completely understandable—that bonus is a key motivator. But 32% of you said No, you’re ready to make a move now. This shows that there’s a fairly large group of people looking for new opportunities, even with the potential of a year-end bonus. And 27% said it’s a factor, but not the only one - it’s about more than just money— a consistent trend we’ve been talking about for a while now.
Now, for employers, this is key. If you’re relying on compensation alone to retain top talent, take note: it isn’t enough. People are looking for long-term value in their careers—things like growth opportunities, recognition, and flexibility.
As we approach the end of the year, it’s a great time to evaluate if & how you’re engaging and retaining your team. And if you’re considering a career move, remember that opportunities don’t always wait.
